Vengeful Taliban fighters set a young woman in northern Afghanistan ablaze this week, a woman’s rights activist alleged, as word of the terror group’s atrocities slowly trickles out of the strife-torn country.
The woman was “put on fire because she was accused of bad cooking for Taliban fighters,” Najla Ayoubi, a former Afghan judge, told Sky News Friday.
“They are forcing people to give them food and cook them food,” Ayoubi said. “Also there are so many young women in the past few weeks being shipped into neighboring countries in coffins to be used as sex slaves.”
Ayoubi, who lives in exile in the United States, said she is is collecting reports of beatings, whippings, and other violent attacks on women from “thousands and hundreds of my fellow activists on the ground in Afghanistan” — many of them now in hiding.
