"The world must become aware of the fantastic transformational power of social entrepreneurship and the Foundation will work as a catalyst in this effort."
We are currently experiencing a new industrial revolution. Knowledge is becoming public property. With the availability of Google and other technical tools, we live in a world in which practically everyone has access to knowledge at all times. Knowledge as such, therefore, is no longer sufficient to gain a competitive advantage. That's why companies must now adapt permanently to innovation and why creativity is imperative these days.
Globalization, like industrialization 150 years ago, is a natural process. It is connected with closer integration of the world through communication, lower travel and transport costs, and so on. Globalization as such is a very positive process – for us all. We enjoy Chinese restaurants. We like going on vacation. However, with globalization we must be careful that the losers – and there are losers in this process since it promotes tougher competition – enjoy the protection of a safety net.
